WL #1 Update: Harvest Fun

What a wonderful October! We’ve had lots of fun learning about the sensational season of fall. We went on a kike to the oak trees and picked some acorns off the ground. We were learning the difference between an oak tree, which gives us acorns, and a maple tree that has maple seeds. Trees give us so much: shade, food, paper, wood and clean air!

Apples come from trees and we learned about the different kinds of apples. Granny Smith is our favorite to say and taste! We made yummy applesauce too.

Harvest time is here and the farmers are busy harvesting food for us and the animals. We learned at Cozy Nook Farm that cows eat the corn that Farmer Tom grows. We tasted 3 different types of squash. Yummy! Pumpkins will finish out our month on fall.

Hope you’re having a spectacular fall!

WL #3 Update: October fun!

We’ve had a very busy month learning the Fall, apples and our colors! We even got to take a field trip to a pumpkin farm where we pet and feed cows, jumped in a haystack, went on a tractor ride, and got to pick our very own pumpkins.

Speaking about pumpkins, Wee Learners #3 are learned all about pumpkins! We looked at the life cycle of the pumpkin, checked out size and color, and explored the insides of the pumpkin.

Thanks for sharing your black and orange treats to help with our black and orange celebration!
